Travel to Stowe, Vermont's Austrian-Inspired luxury mountaintop resort, Von Trapp Lodge & Resort for a pre-Holiday getaway that is sure to get you into the holiday spirit! The Sound of Music's Von Trapp Family settled this enchanted farm with sweeping mountain vistas reminiscent of their beloved Austria and the family still owns & operates the property.

DAY 1 - We'll visit quaint Woodstock Vermont, for lunch (on own), then arrive at the Von Trapp Family Lodge enjoy a brief history talk before a delicious dinner in the main dining room. The hotel has been recently renovated and expanded to include the Von Trapp Brewing Co & Bierhall Restaurant, wellness center, and Trapp Family Farm. Beautifully decorated Christmas trees & decorations will adorn every floor, the lobby, restaurant and seating area of the hotel. (D)

DAY 2 - Enjoy a relaxing morning at the hotel before visiting Stowe Village for lunch (on own) & shopping. We'll stop at the Cabot Cheese Annex to browse Cabot's Farmers Store for a selection of Vermont microbrews, hard ciders and local and international wines to our impressive selection of Vermont artisanal cheese. Within the Annex, you can also sample & purchase fine Vermont chocolates from Lake Champlain Chocolates, Distilled spirits and delicious bourbon barrel aged maple syrup at Smuggler's Notch Distillery. We'll return to the Trapp Lodge in time for afternoon tea & cookies and some relaxation, then explore the Winter Lights at Shelburne Museum. The Museum will be aglow in a spectacular display of lights accompanied by musical selections. Their iconic landmarks will be decorated with thousands of lights that make for a breathtaking walking tour in the evening hours. Dinner is on your own at the museum café. (B, Tea & cookies)

DAY 3 -Take a tour of the winter landscape surrounding von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort like never before with a one-of-a-kind horse-drawn sleigh ride. Then, we'll visit the Von Trapp Bierhall for a tour of the brewery and an included lunch. Before returning to the Cape, we'll stop at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory to see how they make ice cream and enjoy a sample of ice cream. (B,L)
