Maine Lobster Lover's Getaway with Anchorage by the Sea

Spend two nights at the oceanfront hotel, Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit, just steps from Ogunquit shopping, restaurants, the Marginal Way and Perkins Cove. The hotel boasts heated indoor and outdoor pools, poolside bar, and spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, most with ocean views.

DAY 1 - We'll have time to enjoy lunch (on own) in scenic Perkins Cove before our 50-minute Lobstering Cruise. This trip combines the scenic beauty of Ogunquit's shoreline with a firsthand lobstering experience. You will see traps hauled and lobsters caught by an authentic Maine lobsterman. Your tour guide will provide a detailed explanation of the lobster fishery and the many scenic points of interest along the way, providing you with many insights into life along the coast. Then, check into our ocean-front hotel, the Anchorage by the Sea and enjoy some time to relax before a delicious DownEast Lobster bake at Jonathan's Restaurant that includes clam chowder, salad, 1-1¼ lb. steamed lobster, fresh Maine Mussels, baked potato, corn on the cob, and Maine Blueberry Pie for dessert. DAY 2 - The day is yours to enjoy at your leisure! Take a stroll along Ogunquit's famed Marginal Way, browse the shops near our hotel and at Perkins Cove or relax at the hotel. Marginal Way can be accessed from the hotel, and it follows the rugged coast to picturesque Perkins Cove, Ogunquit's quaint fishing village which is spanned by a charming footbridge-drawbridge at its mouth. This tiny cove offers splendid scenery, and numerous small shops, restaurants and galleries housed in weathered fishing shacks. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Relax by the hotel's indoor or outdoor pool, enjoy a sunset cocktail overlooking the ocean, and enjoy dinner at the hotel or at one of the many restaurants within easy walking distance of our hotel. DAY 3 - We will take a tour of historic Portland, Maine to see many sea captains' homes overlooking Casco Bay, the Old Port waterfront area, Victoria Mansion, and more while learning about the city and some of its' seafaring residents. We'll also make a stop at Portland Head Light to get some amazing photos of the lighthouse and the scenic Maine coast. You can take a short walk down the cliff walk path, visit the Lighthouse Museum and gift shop. You'll have time to enjoy lunch and shopping in downtown Portland, before we stop at Haven's Candies, to shop their full line of premium chocolates, fudge, saltwater taffy and roasted nuts. The candy factory has a 60' glass wall where you can see candy production up close. (B)
