Take a leisurely ride to the "Quiet Corner" of the Connecticut countryside. With its instantly recognizable pink exterior, Roseland Cottage in Woodstock has an equally colorful interior, featuring elaborate wall coverings, heavily patterned carpets, and stained glass, much of which survives unchanged from the Victorian era. Enjoy a guided tour of this historic mansion, built in 1846 in the newly fashionable Gothic Revival style, as the summer home of Henry and Lucy Bowen and their young family.

 

We will have a delicious full lunch at the Inn at Woodstock Hill, a historic bed & breakfast and farm built in 1816 for William Bowen (the grandfather of the original owners of Roseland Cottage).

 

End the day in nearby Putnam, a destination town for antique lovers. Putnam is home to the oldest antiques mega mall in the state along with dozens of other small antique boutiques - you are sure to find the perfect treasure here!
