Indulge your sweet tooth on this deliciously fun tour to experience Vermonts maple sugaring season up close with two nights at the renowned Essex Culinary Resort & Spa. Youll love their culinary-themed guest rooms, featuring décor inspired by the colors and textures of food. Located on 18 acres of Vermont countryside the culinary resort offers two on-site restaurants, hands-on cooking classes, full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, state of the art fitness center, and walking trails. The hotel is adjacent to the Essex Experience Shopping Center, where you can shop, dine or relax & detox at the Purple Sages Salt Cave.
DAY 1 On our way to Essex, well enjoy time for lunch and shopping in the charming of Hanover and stop at King Arthur Flours Flagship store to shop their huge selection of flours, bakeware, spices, books and more. Check into the Essex Resort in the late afternoon and relax before our delicious 3-course Maple-Themed dinner and cooking class. The hotels expert chefs will lead you through making a salad and Maple Crème Puffs while the kitchen prepares you a wonderful maple flavored entrée. (D)
DAY 2 - Well enjoy a few more of Vermonts best foodie finds this morning, including those at the Vermont Annex: Cabot Cheese Annex, Smugglers Notch Distillery, & Lake Champlain Chocolates. Well also stop at Cold Hollow Cider to shop their selection of gourmet Vermont-made foods, sample their cider (both soft and hard cider), and purchase some of their delicious apple cider donuts. Visit the quaint downtown of Stowe for lunch and shopping on your own before returning to the hotel for the afternoon on your own. The hotel offers multiple restaurants and a spa, or you can take the optional cooking class & dinner for an evening of Italian Delights. (B)
DAY 3 Well begin our morning with a visit to Church Street Marketplace for shopping and lunch (on own). Browse the Marketplaces 100 shops, restaurants, and local businesses set within four charming pedestrian-only blocks. Then, stop at Dakin Farms where youll find meats smoked on premises using the farms original 1800s Vermont recipes, specialty food and gift items, maple syrup and more. Before we return to the Cape, visit a Maple farm for shopping and enjoy a local favorite, Maple Creemee.
